Next on Plate is a fantabulous meal planner app. This is a simple app that can store your meal plans for any timeline you want.
The Story
The existence of Next on Plate purely comes from the personal problem and frustration of planning a meal for the day. During those normal times, when we had this problem, we simply said “Let’s eat outside!”. This pandemic not only locked us in, but it also locked all of our desire to eat a fabulous meal from a restaurant and put it on hold. The early days of the pandemic were very serious and many of us were scared to even do a meal delivery. While all of our weekly shopping comes from online, we will have something in our minds to cook while ordering the items. When they’re delivered, we remembered vaguely what to do with it and thus the idea of an awesome meal for that moment is gone.
We tried a lot of apps in the market only to realise that most of them were fitness-focused or just note-taking apps. We wanted something that can categorise and remind us every day what we want to cook. I wanted to cook something nice without being guilty about the number of calories it has. We realised that nothing was there for such use so we started to code it ourselves. Thus, Next on Plate was born.
What does the app do
The app has very cool functionalities. Just follow these steps to save your plan.
Step 1: Select a date range for your meal plan to start with.
Step 2: Start adding your meals in your own words for each course. (Eg: Porridge, Penne Pasta with white sauce)
Step 3: That’s it. You’re set and the app will remind you for each day with the plan you had.
If you have changed your mind, don’t worry! You can edit or change any meal plan at any time.
Functionalities
Like we said earlier, this is a very simple app. But it has lots of potentials. The following are some of the current functionalities the app provides to the users.
- Store a digital record of your meal plan for the selected date range
- Change/edit or even add new items on the existing meal plan
- Provide a meal summary for each date range
- Display a list of upcoming and past meal plans on the home screen
- Provide a short meal summary for the day on the home screen
We DO NOT store any of your information given in this app anywhere with us. All data you provide to the app is ONLY stored locally on your device and we have no access to it whatsoever.
We try our best to add more functionalities. We come up with new functionality based on the issues we see or a missing feature or based on the feedback we receive from the users. So if you want to see any feature in the app, feel free to contact us through the feedback section of the app. We will definitely try to prioritise it.
